~Welcome, students of the Bible!~
Hello! First of all let me thank you and welcome you to this website. My name is Thurman V Compton Jr. You can call me Bro. Thurman if you would like. If you are “saved” and have been “Born Again” then you need a place you can come to and study, and get material for your Bible studies that are simple, and “Truth.” I have been a Christian going on 43 years now, and I can, and will testify to you that “God is real” and “His Son Jesus Christ is real.” God’s word is what it says it is, “…it liveth…” 1 Peter 1:23 This site is in no way meant to draw you away from your church assembly or to discourage you from fellowshipping with the brethren that you may be. This site is for the Lord’s word to be available, and get to sincere and genuine Bible Believers that want a regular (daily) and stable feeding from Gods word, and are willing to discipline themselves as the Lord commands us to. 2 Timothy 2:15 Our study of God’s word should be sincere, disciplined and deliberate. We should approach God’s word with respect and reverence and anticipation. Not doubt and questioning. YOU NEED, SHOULD HAVE, AND ARE COMMANDED to be in God’s word daily. (Matthew 26:55; Luke 9:23; Acts 5:42; Acts 17:11) These studies are simple to learn from, and available in whatever way you like to learn. The only way I have not compiled these lessons is by video. Don’t want to scare anybody, you know? Joking! Unfortunately, things (in this Laodicean era,) are getting just like the Lord said they would. People (Christians) are not valiant for the truth. Are you valiant for the Truth? If you are, then you are welcome to use these lessons to learn God’s wonderful truths. If I can help you in any way in your walk Brother or Sister, just say so. (IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU ARE GOING TO HEAVEN OR THAT YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, PLEASE STOP, AND GO TO THE PAGE “LIFE and DEATH.”) There I have laid out for you the very words from God’s word that I heard when the Lord saved me 43 Years ago. Since then, He has kept His word with me and the change the Lord made then, is still there. He will save you, and is willing, if you are. He will save you and give you a guaranteed home in Heaven if you will come to Him His way. Matthew 11:28-30 Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time you already have with this site. Feel free to look it over. Above, is the menu where you can journey through Barn House Ministries lessons and more. Just “click” and your in class. Note: While going here and there on this site, if at any time you wish to go back to the previous “page” you were on, press a back button. The Lord bless you. I love you with Christ’s love. Sincerely, Brother Thurman. John 21:22
Did you know that God wants all men to be saved? He does! But God has made the deciding factor of whether you get eternal life and get to be with Him, UP TO YOU! It’s called your “will.” The Lord has granted every man with a “free will.” This means that you have a will that is a “free agent.” You have, get to, and are granted the privilege of making up your own mind of whether you “will” accept salvation the way God has layed it out in the New Testament. You can choose to or not to believe on God’s Son Jesus Christ who died for all men’s sins. You decide if you want to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, or not. You decide if you go to Heaven, or go to Hell. You decide whether to be Gods son born into His family never to be estranged again or whether to be the enemy of God under His wrath and condemnation. The Lord left it entirely up to YOU. The Lord wants you to choose His Son. He will not force you to believe on Jesus nor pardon you if you do not. A critical decision indeed.
Empty Tomb’s Message
The empty tomb had a message for the disciples as it has for us. It say’s to Science and Philosophy, “Explain this event.” It say’s to History, “Repeat this event.” It say’s to time, “Blot out this event.” It say’s to faith, “Believe this event!” ~Unknown~
“How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?” Job 26:3
If you claim to be a Christian (and all other people by the way, but especially Bible believers) you are expected by the Lord and the Scriptures to tell a thing “AS IT IS.” Not as you would like it to be, or as it should be , or as it might be, or as you think it would be, but, AS IT IS! Did you get that”? “Do you declare a thing AS IT IS?” You should! Brother Thurman.
Christian? Are you really going to go to meet your Lord having not studied ANYTHING in or about His word?
Brothers and Sisters in the Lord. If it is a longing in your heart to be back walking with the Lord and not to be burdened with the sin that so easily besets us, then tell Him so! The Scriptures say that the Lord stands ready to forgive. Psalms 86:5 Read it. Tell the Lord that you want things fixed up between you and Him and mean it with all your heart. Then tell Him the truth of why it is not. 1 John 1:9 Read it. According to Gods wonderful word, if you will sincerely go to Him, He will not upbraid you or make fun of you for doing so. James 1:5 Read it. Your problem is not your “problems.” The problem is your relationship with your Lord (and you know it, we all do). Get things fixed up with your Lord, and every thing else will work out. Won’t you turn back to Him today. He is so beautiful and kind. He promises not to cast you out if you will come to Him. John 6:37 Read it. All it is is a choice. Haven’t you had enough? Jesus invites you to come to Him. Matthew 11:28 Try Him. See if He will do what His words say. Just between you and Him by faith tell Him the truth and what you want, and watch what happens. Be sincere and if you mean it, then mean it. He won’t let you down. He didn’t and never has let me down. I’m no more special to Him than you. He’ll take you back. Do you mean it? Then mean it! Hope you will. I love you with Christ’s love. Brother Thurman
“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:20-21
There are not any excuses for a Christian not to spend time every day in God’s word. If you can see, hear, or write there is something here for you. There is enough material in this site already to keep a person continually studying for over a year at least, minimum. Whether it be here or where ever brother and sisters, “Get in that Book!” You want to honor God? Get in the Book! You want to study, then study; who cares what anybody else thinks about the matter! Do what is pleasing to the Lord! Brother Thurman
JUST AS I AM
Charlotte Elliott’s brother, Rev Elliott, was planning the building of a school for daughters of clergymen. The author was then 45 years old, ill of health, and could not help. A special program had been scheduled to help in the fundraising. That night she could not sleep and started doubting if she would be useful to the Lord. The next day, everyone went to the program and she was left alone. As she thought of her weakness, she realized that since salvation was not of works, her Christian life was also to be by faith and trust, that God accepts the weakest person. And taking up her pen, she wrote this hymn of commitment.
Everything For Nothing
An aged saint , on being asked to describe salvation, aptly replied, “Something for nothing.” Another aged saint, who had weathered the storms for many a long year and was nearing the Heavenly harbor, on hearing this story related, exclaimed, “Yes, its even better than that. It’s EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING.” ~Grace Robinson~
"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:3-4
The Wicked’s message to God
“They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?” Job 21:13-15
Brothers and Sisters, just don’t let that be you! The Lord tolerates attitudes and treatment from folks like the above FOR NOW, but there is a reckoning on the horizon, and frankly, some don’t care about it. I do! Brother Thurman.
“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time. For that’s the stuff life is made of.” ~Benjamin Franklin~
Courtesy costs nothing, yet it buys things that are priceless. ~unknown~
